Independence National Historical Park – Located just outside Philadelphia is Independence National Historical Park. It preserves the location of the Declaration of Independence’s signing and the U.S. Constitution. You can tour the buildings where it happened, including the Pennsylvania State House, which now serves as the US Capitol building.
The Betsy Ross House – This house in Philadelphia served as the headquarters of the American flag design committee during the Revolutionary War. It is now home to a museum that tells the story of how the American flag was created.
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts – Founded in 1805, PAFA is the second oldest art academy in the United States. Its collection contains paintings by European masters such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck and Gainsborough.
National Museum of American Jewish History – Established in 1976, the National Museum of American Jewish History tells the stories of Jews in the United States. Exhibits include items like the Star of David, a Torah scroll and a menorah.
Franklin Institute Science Museum – A science museum located in Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The Franklin Institute has interactive exhibits about biology, astronomy, physics, and chemistry. You can explore electricity, learn about the human body, and even try different jobs.
